One character may lead the story, while a friend gets the best laugh. Scrappy-Doo, Pinky, Patrick, Stimpy and Toad do this in
The life lessons from classic cartoons were often hidden inside a joke, an argument or another impossible chase. We remember Bugs Bunny keeping his composure while everyone around him lost theirs, the Smurfs arguing and then pulling together, or Professor Balthazar taking somebody’s apparently small problem seriously. Ask someone what they remember about childhood cartoons
Some classic cartoon episodes that scared us as kids did not need a monster in every scene. They simply changed the rules for a few minutes. A familiar chase grew unexpectedly serious.
